April Glossybox: The Natural Box

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posts. I've been tied down with getting the dissertation finished. It's all over now (YAY!!) and so I'll hopefully be able to get back on the blogging before exams start in a few weeks.

It seems so long since I last received beauty box. However the arrival of the April Glossybox was perfect timing for me. I had to hand in my dissertation on Monday and instead of going out and finding myself a product to treat myself I had my Glossybox to open, and it definitely was a lovely treat!
The theme of the April box tied in with Earth month and so everything down to the packaging is based on natural ingredients. I think the biodegradable packaging has been my favourite of the limited edition boxes with the cream textured recycled paper. So pretty!

So here’s everything I received in my Glossybox this month:

Ayuuri Natural Bodywash in Sandalwood
Sandalwood is one of my favourite scents so when I saw this I was so excited. It contains sandal wood oils and vitamin E and so sounds like it should be really moisturising. This is a full sized product and only costs £4.95 so it’s definitely quite affordable and something I would be tempted to repurchase if I really loved it.

Figs and Rouge Rambling Rose Lip Balm
I was pleased to see a lip balm in the box this month as I always like to have one within reach. You never know when your lips are going to randomly dry out! This smells gorgeous, really rosy and natural. I was a bit surprised by the texture as this is quite soft to the touch and I’m really used to Vaseline. However it does leave my lips feeling soft and moisturised.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
I’ve really enjoyed all of the Caudalie products I’ve tried so I’m definitely excited to see the effects this gives. Although this serum is meant for dehydrated skin the formula feels really light, absorbs nicely into the skin and doesn’t feel greasy at all.

Kai Perfume Oil
Now I don’t really like receiving perfume samples in my boxes. I think perfume is a very personal thing and most of the ones I’ve received I really haven’t liked. However the past two from Glossybox have been really nice. I love this perfume, and as it’s an oil it stays around all day and you only need the tiniest amount. The full size is £41 for 3.6 ml though, which is a bit of a splurge, but I often find the best perfumes are the most expensive!

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Eyeliner in Coco
It was nice to receive a neutral, everyday eyeliner in my box and as it’s brown I will definitely use this. The formula is soft and creamy so it doesn’t tug and pull at the skin when applied. It also stays on really well without smudging. At a first glance I’m quite impressed.

Overall I’ve really liked everything that I received in my April box and I think I can honestly say I will use everything as well. It was nice to see products that were more natural and the cute biodegradable packaging was definitely the icing on the cake. What did you receive in your April Glossybox? Did you like it or was it a bit average for you?

March Glossybox: The Harrods Edition

Hi everyone!

There has been much hype surrounding the Harrods Edition Glossybox and I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the expectations surrounding it. I think there was a good mix of products in the box I received and I will get good use out of most of them. Here’s everything I got in my box:

Narciso Rodriguez – For Her Eau de Parfum
Again this has been another perfume which I really like the scent of - woody and floral. It is quite strong however and so will not be for everyone’s taste. The only downside is that I seemed to have a bit of an allergic reaction when I wore this. I was a bit upset about as I enjoyed wearing it and would have used this up otherwise.

Molton Brown – Heavenly Ginger-Lily Moisture Bath and Shower
I’ve seen the brand before and it’s known for being the ‘posh hotel’ type of shower/bath product. This bath/shower gel has a soft floral scent and contains tamanu and macadamia nut oils to hydrate the skin. It’s a handy size for popping into my bag when travelling so I will definitely get some use out of this.

YSL – Forever Youth Liberator Serum
This anti ageing serum seems to be based on a lot of science and so I think this could be quite effective. However at 21 I don’t really suffer from any signs of ageing at the moment and so can’t tell how good this product actually is. I might give this one to my mum to try.

Burberry Beauty – Miniature Lip Cover in Rosewood No 4.

I’m really enjoying all the miniature lip products in the beauty boxes at the moment. It really allows you to try a lip product out properly before purchasing the full sized version. I love the colour of this lipstick – a brown toned nude. It applies smoothly and isn’t drying on the lips. Let’s also not forget how adorable the packaging is!

Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream
I’m glad to have received another Clarins product to try out. This body cream is meant to firm the skin and I’m eager to see the results on those problem areas. The consistency is rather thick yet it readily absorbs into the skin leaving a subtle fresh scent and hydrated skin.

I think the stand out product for me in this box was the Burberry lipstick, however I know that I will end up using most, if not all of the products in the box. Do I think it’s as good as the hype? Yes and no. I think it was a fantastic idea to collaborate with a big department store but once again the variety in people’s boxes is just too much. I think a lot of people were expecting the Burberry lipstick from reading other posts and luckily I got it. The consistency of boxes is something I think Glossybox really needs to work on and hopefully they are listening to their subscribers.  What did you receive in your Harrods Glossybox?
